A Mad Hatter Gala – Chase Park Plaza

We had the pleasure to work for Contemporary Events again this year, on an annual gala they produce that continues to be one of our most show stopping events! This year’s theme was Mad Hatter.  We built a custom keyhole entry treatment for guests to enter the hotel through. Guests then walked a custom built Queen of Hearts red carpet. Don’t miss the time lapse video at the bottom of this blog post!

The bar area was covered in a black and white checkerboard pattern. We hand painted black and white checkered drape, accentuated by a checkered pattern projection on the ceiling. Our light up columns marked the entryway into the dining room.

The lounge area was accented by our lighting design and giant clock table, used to hold the escort cards.

The lounge led into the cocktail area which we transformed into Alice’s Wonderland, complete with Alice herself! (Belle of the Ball)

Convention Center

We created a MASH theme for a helicopter rescue corporate conference. Destination St. Louis was the Producer of this really fun event, and as usual it was pretty amazing to work for such a talented team of Producers. We provided the lighting design for this event but as you can see from the photos below we really had a blast utilizing our theater skills and theatrically creating the MASH ambiance for the themed conference.

A Whimsical Chuppah

We created this ribbon structure for a naming ceremony for the new baby son of  Simcha Lourie.  We used it for the center point of the naming ceremony but it would also be a perfect whimsical wedding Chuppah as well!

Frame your Fashion

This frame we designed, built and painted in our scenery shop and was the perfect entrance for the VIP Fashion show produced by the brilliant Missy Slay at SEMAC. The talent and VIP walked through the frame down the runway.

Damask in light at the 9th Street Abbey

Just a beautiful palate for lighting.  This event we lit in rose and berry hues with an overlay of a one of a kind damask pattern of light. Look for this event to be featured in the July issue of St. Louis Bride Magazine.

Moulin & The Contemporary Art Museum

We loved this event! One couple and a weekend long of wedding celebration. We worked with a great team of vendors, spearheaded by our fearless leader and Wedding and Event Coordinator Shelli Alred of Alred Wedding Consultants, to create an Indian celebration at The Contemporary Art Museum, as well as a reception at Moulin.

In addition to a unique henna pattern projection on the walls, The CAM was uplit in pink and purple hued lighting for the first reception. Moroccan lanterns were used in one area of the room, while colorful drape was hung to add to the Indian decor elements. The colorful florals from Artistry Design completed the room.

The Before Photo of the room

The second day of celebration took place at Moulin. Crushed and textured brown and gold drape was used to create a special suprise entry treatment for the bride and groom complete with our theatrical lighting and fog.

Inside Moulin, uplighting and drape were used to accentuate the wooden posts throughout the room, while light strands and our hand made fabric lanterns were hung to create even more ambiance against the exposed brick and beams in the historic room. Thank you to Ann Jones at Moulin for her kindness as usual!

Thanks to Anne James Photography for the beautiful photos.

Happy Mardi Gras!

We are a proud member of St. Louis’s Chapter of MPI (Meeting Planners International).  Last night we had our Annual Trivia Night.  Because it is Mardi Gras and we all LOVE Mardi Gras that was the theme to the evening!  Exclusive Events, Inc created the backdrop to the stage as well as the room lighting.  What a successful and fun evening!  Thank you to Pam Bredenkamp of Signature Studio Inc. for her photo.  Pam is a super Corporate Photographer but also wedding and families too!

Tent Wedding, Columbia, MO

We had so much fun working with the wonderful Shelli Alred, creating this stunning tent wedding in Columbia. In the entry, guests were immediately enveloped in dramatic white drape which created a soft, romantic feel. The rustic theme was also immediately evident, as shown by the couple’s beautiful birch escort card table.

The inside of the tent was fully draped and lit in ivory. Uplighting emphasized the burlap accents along the walls, that added to the earthly feel the couple was going for.

Pinspotting accentuated the stunning orchid balls, made by Artistry.

We built a birch wall for the couple to display images of things that are special to them, adding to the personalization of the wedding.

We covered the entire tent floor with a hardwood look, but we hand painted the dance floor in a slightly lighter grain and washed a soft pattern onto it. A wooden stage was made for the band, as well as wooden planter boxes, filled with lush greenery, also by Artistry.

At one end of the tent, accented by more uplighting, our white bar was the perfect spot to display baby’s breath bouquets.

We loved all of the earthy details, especially the hand pressed table numbers, made by the happy couple. Such a unique wedding to be a part of!

Busch Stadium World Series Gala

After the Cardinals won the World Series, a Gala was held at Busch Stadium. This event was produced by Contemporary Events in a very short time!  They had the daunting task of pulling together a team of vendors to create the event of the year in a matter of days.  We were very fortunate to be one of the vendors that were asked to work on this very special project.

At the entrance of the Stadium, we placed our handmade large gold frame, with black draping and a red carpet, to usher guests inside. Once inside, they were met with a beautiful lighting treatment wallpapering one area, while Cardinal red uplighting was used to accentuate another. The placement of light up pub tables, adorned with the St. Louis Cardinals emblem, more unique lighting, along with the use of drapes and our custom built chandeliers, were used as accents around the room. A lounge area was also created to complete the room.

Congratulations, Cardinals!

Ameristar Nightclub

An amazing annual holiday party was held at the Ameristar Nightclub last month. The Theme was NAUGHTY or NICE with a very adult twist.  This event was so fun! We designed and completely created a Naughty Santa’s bedroom with a little bit of nice thrown in. Guests walked through the actual bedroom with North Pole performers as if they were in a museum.  Talk about interactive and the guests actually got to experience the decor rather than just look at it.  It was an amazing experience for us as designers, but also for the enormous guest list.

We draped the entire room all the way around in different patterns, colors and textures for a Moulin Rouge intense sensory experience.

A wooden platform was built for Santa’s bed to sit atop, as well as several arched windows and walls for Santa’s shelves to display his personal photos. There were a ton of details to this event included pictures of Santa, candles, ornate mirrors, pillows, Santa’s perfect Christmas tree and more, that pulled the whole experience together.

In front of the Christmas tree, all decked out in black and gold ornaments, was a lounge area for Santa. It was lit by candlelight and naughty elf boots hung from the custom made fireplace.
